In this diary I discuss the importance of choosing an appropriate save game scheme for the game you are trying to make.
Autosaving when you enter a room (as you mention) is a good idea. Of course it would be great if the game saved no matter where I was 😛
I thought about saving the game no matter where you are, but then you could save when you are dying, which isn’t ideal. Since our rooms are relatively small, and there isn’t carry over from one room to the next, I think this is the best solution for our particular game. We’ll see how it goes when we actually implement it though.
